Call 877-855-1030 ** 1970 Porsche 911T At the 1963 Frankfurt Motor Show, Porsche showed off their new sports car that changed the automotive world forever. Known initially as the 901, the name was quickly changed to the 911 and production began in September of 1964. The flat-6 engine was placed over the rear axle which gave the early 911s in particular a unique handling balance that, if used by a skilled driver, could be faster than many cars with twice the power. In August of 1969, Porsche introduced their new “C-Series” 911 which is now better known as the Long Wheel Base. This new series kept the now famous 911 shape but extended the wheelbase of the car by 2.3 inches to help remedy some of the notoriously nervous handling dynamics of the earlier cars. This small change was so significant that Porsche kept the 911’s wheelbase the same until the introduction of the 964 in 1989.  During this period, Porsche produced 3 trim levels of 911, the 911T, 911E and 911S- the 911T was intended as the base model car and was the only one of the three models to retain carburetors after 1969. Although it was positioned as the base car at the time, all three cars utilized the same engine and by retaining carburetors, the 911T was far easier to modify and the lightest of the three models as well. This absolutely stunning example of a 1970 911T has been painstakingly restored and now presents in better than new condition! Painted in its original shade of Bahia Red with a black leatherette interior, this car is guaranteed to get attention anywhere you go in it. The restoration of this car began in 2017 with a very original example that just needed some freshening- but the owner took the project to an extreme and there isn’t a bolt on this car that hasn’t been touched. Starting by taking the car back to bare metal, the bodywork was carefully addressed and made laser straight all the way through-making sure to keep all the factory VIN tags in place- before fresh paint was applied. During this time, a 911S front spoiler was added and a new windshield was installed but all of the other glass on the car remains original. The car rides on a set of original 15”x7” Porsche Fuchs wheels that have clearly been restored to a brand new finish.  The interior of the car is just as immaculate as the exterior- with all new black leatherette, every piece on the inside of this car has been addressed and looks better than new. The carpet was replaced and the headliner looks like it came out of the upholstery shop yesterday. In the engine bay is where this car truly shines- the original 2.2-liter Flat-6 has been treated to a comprehensive rebuild by Kendall Porsche’s Classic Department in Bend Oregon and runs absolutely flawlessly. Restored to factory correct specification, the car has a beautiful set of PMO Carburetors on top that breathe through the K&N air filters which give the car a special bark under acceleration. At the same time, Kendall Porsche carried out a full rebuild of the 5-speed gearbox that included a new clutch which helps the car shift fantastically. During the restoration, the original air conditioning was removed from the car and replaced with a far more effective Classic Auto climate control system. Not wanting to leave any stone unturned, the owner comprehensively detailed the underside of the car to the point that you might want to park it on a mirror to marvel at the mechanicals. After all of this work was completed, the car has only been driven 300 miles and is ready to be enjoyed to the fullest on your nearest backroad. In today’s collector car market, the Porsche 911 is about the hottest vehicle around and this 1970 911T is a perfect way to get a piece of the action that is turn key and needs nothing.  Factory Options Rear Bumper Horns Left Antenna With Loud Speaker Noise Suppression Tinted Glass All Around Standard Features 2.2-Liter Flat-6 5-Speed Manual Transmission McPherson Strut Front Suspension Manual Windows Leatherette Interior Full Instrumentation 2+2 Seating For more information on this 1970 Porsche 911T Coupe Call 877-855-1030
