The second generation Porsche 911/997 got several updates and improvements. This included a new more powerful engine thanks to direct-injection. The 3.6-liter Carrera got 345 horsepower, up from 325hp. This is similar power as the previous 997.1 S model. The 997.2 base Carrera with PDK is faster 0 to 60 than the 997.1 S with a manual. Also, the IMS bearing was eliminated from this engine design. Furthermore, the bore scoring issues of the previous models were significantly reduced. The new styling of the lights really helped finish off the already improved 997 looks and there are additional interior upgrades. This was also the introduction of Porsche’s dual clutch transmission.
This 997.2 was built in May of 2009 and sold new on August 26th, 2009 by Blue Grass Motorsports, the Porsche dealer in Louisville, Kentucky. It was ordered with the following factory options:

Bluegrass Porsche traded the car to Napleton Westmont Porsche which sold it new to the first owner who was from Darien, Illinois. That owner kept this Porsche for 6-1/2 years and 12k miles before trading it back to the Porsche dealer in Highland Park, IL. Despite the low miles, the car was serviced regularly at the dealer. The next owner lived in Newport Beach, California. This owner only had the car for 6 months and added another 4k miles. It was sold to the next owner from Costa Mesa, California in September of 2016 with 16k miles. This owner serviced the car regularly at the Porsche dealer in Newport Beach, California.

The exterior of this 911 looks great and is indicative of a lower mile/well-cared-for example. The paint on all the metal panels is original and verified with a paint meter. There are a few minor nicks and chips that are mostly pointed out in the photos. There is a soft/shallow dent on the lower passenger rocker panel. The car needs to be on a lift to clearly see it; otherwise, it’s not noticeable. All the exterior lights work properly. The glass is all original, including the windshield. All the factory glass stampings are present. There are no cracks or scratches, but the windshield does have some mild road rash. The wheels have been powder coated with wheel spacers and lowering springs added for a better look and wheel arch fitment. They are wearing Pirelli tires, which have about a third life remaining on the front and were installed in 2016. The rear tires are near full tread and were installed 2 years /4k miles ago. The brake pads, rotors, and sensors are brand new.
The interior is equally as nice and well cared for. The leather ventilated/heated seats are in good shape with no tears or rips. There is some slight and expected wear on the driver side exit bolsters. The rear seats look new as do the headliner, carpet, door panels, and dash. All the gauges work as do the power windows, sunroof, and mirrors. The A/C system blows cold and the stereo/nav system works. The interior lights also work. The original front floor mats have been replaced with factory wet weather mats.
This Carrera drives fantastically and feels tight. The power response is surprisingly good and it pulls smoothly through the rev range. The brakes work great with no squeaking or fading. The handling is crisp and responsive. This 911 could easily be used daily as well as for weekend backroad adventures.
California registration is current and it passes the strict California smog test.
This 911 comes with 2 main keys, all owner’s manuals with vinyl case, tool kit, tow hook, recent service receipts, air compressor, and Porsche tire repair kit.

Fees and Taxes
Taxes and Fees: Out of state buyers are not charged tax, title, or license but are responsible for the documentation fee if shipping the car out of state on a licensed/bonded carrier.  If the buyer chooses to drive the car out of state, we will provide a one way transfer permit () but we will still have to collect local CA sales tax (which most states will reiumburse). The customer is responsible for registering the vehicle in their home state.
