From (Mixed Equipment Unit) VX-6 (Naval Air Development Squadron Six) Attached to USAARP (United States of America Antarctic Research Program) During Operation Deep Freeze During the 1960's.
Sikorsky H-34 Helos of VX-6 Assisted with and Participated in Defense, Cartographic and Photographic Activities as Well as Unique, Historic Scientific Research on the Continent of Antarctica during the 1960's. These Included construction of the World's First Modular Nuclear Reactor and Power Facility at US Naval Station McMurdo and the Testing and Development of the NASA/Grumman Lunar Lander in Advance of the US Moon Landing, July, 1969.
